Why I became a Hypnotherapist and why hypnotherapy training could be for you.
Hi I’m Gary Johannes and I’m the senior lecturer here at CPHT Birmingham. But I’ve not always been a hypnotherapist. Just like many of my students I’ve had a varied career. I studied hypnotherapy as personal development, to get business development so I could be better at my then job. However, I fell in love with being a hypnotherapist. So much so I built a busy practice of my own and now I’m also a lecturer for the gold standard hypnotherapy school CPHT.
Why was it a good move for me?
The best thing about being a hypnotherapist was the ability to help so many different people, in so many different ways.
Being a hypnotherapist gave me freedom to live the lifestyle I wanted. I was in control of my destiny, I was in control of how many hours I worked and when I worked. I could choose whether I wanted time off or whether I wanted to work every hour available. Having that choice felt good. It really was the freedom I enjoyed.
What kind of people retrain to become hypnotherapists?
You would be amazed at the variety of different types of people who train to become hypnotherapists. We get people who are working full time and want to change their careers, who want to get off the hamster wheel of corporate life.
You’ll meet people who are already qualified in the therapy or medical world, like a nurse or counsellor. Sometimes body workers – physiotherapists or chiropractors who want to help more people. We get people who have been a full time parent and want to get back into the work place.
How do you fit hypnotherapy training around your life?
One of the questions I get asked on a regular basis is, how do I fit in all the course work around my already busy life? I believe our course is perfect for that! Whether you work full time, part time, are a stay at home parent of young children (we’ve even had a nursing mum on one of our courses), you are semi-retired but not ready to stop work, you’re in full time education and want a practical application to add to your academic studies, you’ve been made redundant and are looking for your next, and maybe last career move. It really doesn’t matter, because what they all said is, with a little planning and organisation, how simple it was and how flexible it was to fit training into their lives.
What also sets us apart?
Other than having a track record for producing confident hypnotherapists who have already begun to establish their practices before they finish the course, what makes us truly unique is our style of hypnotherapy. We practice Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, which is a modern form of hypnotherapy. It is future paced, so your clients will resolve their issues without delving into the past. We have the neuroscience and results to prove how powerful this model of therapy is. We are at the forefront of the hypnotherapy world and when you are qualified, you will be too.
If you want to be at the cutting edge of hypnotherapy and make a real difference to the clients you see in the future, with a successful career in hypnotherapy this could be the right Course for you.
